ASU Art Museum reserves the right to refuse or revoke the admission of any visitor whose conduct violates these guidelines.
Visitor Guidelines
What should I leave at home?
We restrict certain items for the safety of the artwork and the other patrons’ experiences. Below is a list of things visitors can not bring into the galleries:
- Any food or beverages (including closed water bottles & water packs used for hiking)
- Large bags (anything larger and bulkier than a tote bag)
- Skateboards, Manual & Motorized Scooters, and Bikes
- Umbrellas
- Expandable items (tripods, selfie sticks, ring lights, etc
- Pens (only pencils are allowed in the galleries)
- Animals that are not registered service animals
Can I take photos/video?
Visitors are authorized to take general photographs & recordings using cell phone cameras without flash, for PERSONAL use only. Digital & film, hand-held, point-and-shoot, DSLR cameras, video cameras, flashes, and tripods of any kind are prohibited unless permission is secured prior through the appropriate Museum department.
To request permission to photograph or film, forms and procedural directions are available with security staff at the main Museum information desk or with the registrar staff. Once the form has been completed and submitted to the Registrar’s Department, the request will be reviewed, and the requestor will be informed of the decision. If the request is approved, the Registrar’s Department will schedule a day and time for the photography/filming to take place.

ASU’s Tempe campus is about 10 minutes east of downtown Phoenix via I-10, and about five minutes southeast from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
Parking
Complimentary parking is available in front of the ASU Art Museum in ASU Lot 9, located on the southeast corner of Mill Avenue and 10th Street. Visitors using museum spaces must sign in at the front desk in the lobby of the ASU Art Museum. Please take a picture of your license plate and bring to the front desk.
Short-term paid parking is available in the 10th Street Parking Garage across the street from the museum and in ASU Lot 3 near Gammage Parkway.
ASU Art Museum Ceramics Research Center
Features 3,800 objects from the 20th century to the contemporary moment.

ASU Art Museum Ceramics Research Center is located at the Brickyard on the northeast corner of Mill Ave. and 7th St. in downtown Tempe, three blocks north of ASU Art Museum’s primary location at the Nelson Fine Arts Center.
Tempe is the adjoining southeastern suburb of Phoenix, Arizona. ASU is located in Tempe, about 10 minutes east of downtown Phoenix via I-10 and about five minutes southeast from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Parking
Metered street parking is available adjacent to the Brickyard as is paid underground parking (enter on 6th or 7th Street). Park on level B1 and take the elevator to PL (plaza). The ASU Art Museum Ceramics Research Center and Brickyard Gallery is in the east end of building, near the courtyard fountains.
If you are visiting both of ASU Art Museum’s Tempe locations on the same day, free parking is available in ASU Art Museum-marked spaces at ASU Lot 9, located at the northeast corner of Mill Avenue and 10th Street. Visitors using museum spaces must sign in at the front desk in the lobby of the ASU Art Museum and then walk three blocks north to the Brickyard location.
Shop and Snack
Find a collection of desert-themed museum merchandise, available only at the ASU Art Museum X dialog shop. The new merch offers a range of stylish items perfect for art enthusiasts and desert lovers alike that includes tote bags, t-shirts, hats and stickers.
Visitors can enjoy a “shopportunity” with an updated array of items and objects that feature Phoenix’s most beloved local shops:
- dialog (a unique shop with a focus on everyday treasures, modern furniture and ever-changing one-of-a-kind items)
- Monsoon Market (women-owned neighborhood business selling natural wines, nonalcoholic drinks and quirky items)
- Phoenix General (a “new general store” focusing on desert city centered merchandise for everyday life).
Each store offers staples that emphasize the idea of placemaking within the Valley and Southwest U.S. region. ASU Art Museum X dialog shop is located in the museum lobby at 51 E. 10th Street in Tempe, AZ on the ASU Tempe campus.
