Leave a Legacy Through Art
Support the ASU Art Museum with a Gift of Art, Jewelry, Antiques & More
The ASU Art Museum Legacy Fund, created in partnership with the ASU Foundation, offers a unique opportunity for collectors, families and individuals to contribute to the arts and leave a lasting and meaningful legacy to our community. By donating artwork and other valuable personal property, you help us preserve culture, inspire creativity, and foster a vibrant arts community for years to come.
What is the Legacy Fund?
The Legacy Fund is a dedicated giving vehicle designed to accept donations of artwork, jewelry, antiques, and other valuable items. Are Appraisals Required for Artwork and Personal Property Donations?
If you expect your gift to be valued at more than $5,000, the IRS requires you to obtain a qualified appraisal and provides procedures for taxpayers to request a review of art valuations for income, estate, and gift returns. You must submit an appraisal from a qualified independent appraiser and the appraisal must meet IRS substantiation requirements. This statement can then be used in completing your tax return. It is helpful to also send appraisals to the Museum. Please note that the ASU Art Museum does not provide appraisals for art of any kind or any purpose.
