6 DJs, 18 Turntables, 400 Speakers, 1 Night
Tuesday, September 25, 7:30 p.m.
SEAN DUFFY: The Grove
Sean Duffy’s newest installation seeks to gather people in a highly participatory experience. The Grove consists of 18 turntables, each linked to 20 speakers suspended from the ceiling. A selection of albums by instrumental and vocal performers at each turntable allows participants to interactively change the sound environment. With close to 400 speakers, the installation creates a canopy of sound from a collective-community orchestration of ever-evolving musical compositions.
