Tours
ASU Art Museum offers a variety of tours to meet the needs of our diverse audiences. From school groups, to university classes, to the everyday visitor, we have a selection of tours that connect you to the artwork and exhibitions we have on display.
To learn more about the tour types we offer and how to schedule a tour, please check out the sections below. Just like admission to the museum, our tours are free of charge!
Scheduling A Group Tour
ASU Art Museum (located on the Tempe campus) is currently taking tours on a case by case basis during the summer. If you are interested in touring, please email asuartmuseum@asu.edu to schedule a tour.
Ceramic Research Center and Brickyard Gallery (sister location to the main museum, located in Downtown Tempe) is open by appointments only during the summer. Please email asuartmuseum@asu.edu to schedule a tour or a visit.
Two weeks’ or more advance notice is requested for all tours. The tour request form offers a section to ask for a different time if the time listed on the request form does not work with your group.
For questions about scheduling tours and about our tour types and cancellations, please contact Sierra Ochoa, Curator of Learning and Co-Creation at sierra.ochoa@asu.edu or call at 480-965-2756.

Self-guided visits
Bring your group or class in to explore the exhibitions at your own pace. Reservations are required for groups of 12 people or more. A one-week notice is required for self-guided visits with larger groups.
To notify us of your visit please fill out the tour request form and select self-guided visit as the option.
Tour Type
Guided Tour: an hour-long conversational tour around the museum that gives you a closer connection to the themes and artwork in every exhibition. Our tour guides tailor tours for different age ranges and different interests. When you fill out the tour request form, please specify your groups age, interests or exhibition(s) they would like to spend more time in.
Guided Tour with our Evergreen Card Game: an hour-long conversational tour around the museum that gives you a closer connection to the themes and artwork in every exhibition. The card game offers another way to learn visual literacy through the elements of arts and priniciples of design.
Print Study Room Tour: an hour-long tour to view a selection of prints from the collection, as well as examples of tools used to create the prints. The Print Collection Manager will be available to explain the tools and printmaking processes.
Self-Guided Visits: a self-paced exploration of exhibitions and the museum (see self-guided visit section above).
Field Trips through Act One
We have paired up with the arts non-profit Act One to bring more students into the museum. Act One provides free transportation for Title 1 schools to different cultural institutions across the state. If you are interested in this program for your class or school, check out on the Field Trip page on the Act One website. Tour slots are limited and must be scheduled through Act One
.
Accommodations
We offer accommodations for visitors to ensure the best experience possible. If your group needs accommodations (i.e., wheel chairs, directions to elevators, and more), please include them in your tour request.
Parking/Bus
Cars or vans are encouraged to park in Lot 9 (directly west of the museum). Please bring your license plate number to the lobby desk to sign in.
Buses may drop off or pick up groups at the museum’s front driveway, which faces Mill Avenue, or along the sidewalk parallel to 10th Street. During the duration of the tour, buses must park in Lot 59 next to ASU’s football stadium.
Lunch Facilities
There are no group lunch facilities at ASU Art Museum, but there are several outdoor areas and restaurants located close to the museum.
