SUMMARY:CALL Workshop: Contemporary Basketry
DESCRIPTION:Working with artist Carol Eckert\, participants will learn about the fascinating tradition and history of basketry and how artists are using these methods to create incredible pieces today. Carol will lead the class in techniques on how to coil and create their own piece to display at an event at the culmination of the workshop. \nThe Creative Aging and Lifelong Learning (CALL) Program at ASU Art Museum stems from the Vitality Arts Project for Art Museums funding received from E.A. Michelson Philanthropy. This series of workshops aims to engage older adults (55+) in museum spaces and reduce ageism. Each workshop series will host 8 sessions and a culminating experience where participants will make art\, foster community and have fun alongside local teaching artists. \nRegistration is closed.
